China has begun offering potential car buyers the option of obtaining their new car from a “vending machine.”  The process works like this:  1 – the potential buyer checks out cars online and makes a reservation for the one that he/she would like to try out for a test drive (of 3-days’ duration); 2 – the buyer then shows up at a service center where employees verify the buyer’s identity using facial recognition; 3 – the car to be test-driven is then brought around from an eight-story “vending machine” (or, automated parking garage).  Alibaba Group Holding, Ltd., the Chinese version of Amazon, is the company beginning the vending car sales venture.  Be prepared for Amazon to start building 8-floor car vending facilities in the U.S.!
