An update to the saga that has gone on for at least a decade at VW is that Herbert Diess has recently been named Chief Executive Officer. Diess, a former BMW AG executive, has plans to revamp the company by turning up the pressure, moving faster and closely aligning the company’s big volume brands – Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat – in order to cut costs and boost productivity. He explains the process as “An evolution; not a revolution.”
