The Drucker Institute at Claremont Graduate University has developed a landmark ranking system of corporations based on the ideals and teachings of Professor Peter Drucker. The Institute measured all those corporations that belonged to either the S&P 500 or Fortune 500 listings in 2016 or had a market value of more than $10 billion. These 608 U.S. corporations were studied for how they stacked up on 37 specific metrics and ranked into 250 top corporations according to the five areas that reflect Dr. Drucker’s core principles: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength. Among the top ten in the rankings were: Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, IBM, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Nvidia, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and 3M. Professor Peter Drucker was my mentor while I was a doctoral student at Claremont Graduate School and it is a great pleasure to provide the Drucker Institute’s work for your reading pleasure during this Christmas season.
