SHRINKING SAM’S

Wal-Mart has determined that making its Sam’s Clubs competitive with Costco means shrinking the number of stores around the country.  The idea is that rather than having Sam’s Clubs that are numerous but under-performing, the focus will be on fewer stores that are performing well and that can be fine-tuned to be fully-cometitive: A sound idea at a time when there’s high competition in retail, not only with other brick and mortar merchants but also with the online presence.
